Recent Project: Residential Constellation Lighting Installation in Central Park Apartment

Lighting is one of the most important aspects of your interior; it illuminates a room and can completely transform the look & feel of a space for better or for worse. On the one hand, it can turn a drab room into a glossy-magazine-worthy space with the simple flick of a switch or, on the other, it can under- or over-illuminate resulting in headaches, tired eyes and lighting fatigue. As the late renowned American interior designer Albert Hadley once intimated, “Design is defined by light and shade, and appropriate lighting is enormously important.”

The Project

For this project, the client was looking for a unique ceiling installation that would compliment the artistic styling of their NYC penthouse apartment.

The Challenges

We were challenged by the client to create an invisible mounting for this particular installation so that the full focus would be put on the installation itself. Working closely with the architects and construction team, we developed an innovative system that would not only have no visible mounting hardware but also would still allow for height adjustments and maintenance. The result is absolutely magical and inspires a "how did they do that?" moment for all who enter the space.

Usually our products are easily installed by the client themselves or by the client’s electrician. For such a complex installation such as this one, we wanted to be heavily involved with the installation to ensure success. We even created a custom built mechanical lift to hold each piece in place while we made the connections.
