What does Celestial mean?
Celestial inspired lighting & design is what we are all about at Richard Clarkson Studio but what does that actually mean?
For us it means that we draw our primary design inspiration from anything related to the sky, outer space, or divine heaven. The dictionary definition breaks it down into three core ideas:
- Of the sky or space: It describes natural objects found in the universe outside Earth's atmosphere, such as the sun, moon, planets, stars, and comets. Common phrases include celestial bodies, celestial objects, and celestial navigation.
- Of heaven or divinity: It refers to spiritual realms, angels, gods, or heavenly peace.
- Eminently pleasing or sublime: Metaphorically, it describes things of supreme beauty, grace, or delight (such as celestial music or celestial beauty).
Natural objects of the Sky, divine peace, and supreme beauty & delight. In each of our products we try to embody a sense of those elements, whether we are paying homage to a thunderstorm or abstracting an aurora we try to imbue all of our designs with an aesthetic and functionality that will create delight and peace.
I've you've ever sat under the stars on a clear night and looked up into an infinite sky you know the feeling of awe and wonder that we aspire to recreate through our works. Such an incredible feeling of a vast openness that is as calming as it is exciting. Imagine a small piece of that feeling suspended in your own home - your very own skyscape. That's what Celestial means to us, if you have a celestial related idea or project let us know, we'd love to help you bring it to life.
